Songnen plain is locate in the north of china’s northeast region,it has superiornatural conditions and geography surroundings,which has reserved the rich ancientculture remains. The archaeological discoveries and studies show that Songnen plainhas evolved with its own special culture and the complete sequence of archeologicalcultural in the Bronze Age,also it’s one of the important archaeological cultural areaswhich has been recognized at present.The all-round research on remains in Songnenplain during the late Shang dynasty has important significance with Improving theSongnen Plain’s Bronze archeological culture sequence and exploring the relationshipbetween the cultures in the nearby areas.Currently, research on this region during late Shang dynasty is mainly depend onthe material which had found by the third season of excavation unearthed on Baijinbaosite. The emphasis researches are the judgement of culture kind, the naming of culture ,the discuss in headstream and flow about culture,but had little study of culturaldivision. This article is based on the study of the Hanshu site which had carried out thesecond season of excavation unearthed , systematically research on the late Shangdynasty remains in Baijinbao site,Gucheng site,etc.after that start the discuss of thetypology oftypical artifacts, cultural division and the age.On the basis of cultural division,analyzed and compared with the specialty ofxiaolaha culture and baijinbao culture,develop the different point on the typology ofthe late Shang dynasty in Songnen plain against the former.It is put forward that thetypology of the late Shang dynasty in Songnen plain is belong to Xiaolaha culture,butshould not divided into independent archaeological culture.The sequence ofarchaeological culture is Xiaolaha culture,Baijinbao culture,”HanshuII”culture from Xia Dynasty to Warring States in Songnen plain.At last, combined with previous research on the typology of the remains in lateShang dynasty,it is hold on the preliminary thinking of the archaeological culturehiberarchy .
