Research On The Female Characters In New Year’s Painting

All living arts originate form their own national arts. No matter in China or other countries, the living arts are depend on traditional arts, and the progresses are made after absorbing traditional arts and learning foreign arts. At present, all arts tend to be the same, and the traditional characteristics in the arts become obscure. In this background, some artists restart the research on the traditional arts. As one of the most important traditional art, the Chinese New Year’s Painting directly reflects the thinking of arts and national personality on various districts and various periods. The New Year’s Painting is very popular as a folk art. Through different forms and themes, the New Year’s Painting illustrates the idea of artists and people’s beauty hobby.This study begins from the women’s apparel modeling, story matters and art style. Based on my visiting to the Yangliuqing Painting House in Tianjin, the Taohuawu Painting House in Suzhou and the Zhuxianzhen Painting House in Henan, the current New Year’s Painting is classified to different sorts:"Deity Painting","Belle Painting","Children Painting" and "Folk Story Painting". Female characters are very popular in all of these painting.Wood block painting originated very early in our country, because it is very close to people’s life. Research of female characters in paintings could show the ancient women’s spirit, behavior, apparel modeling, interest modality and the ancient custom in different dynasties. The wood block painting records the civilization and history in specific moments, and reflects the significant times society actuality or inward soul of the ancients. Our country’s national cultural inspire artist’s idea, so there are lots of characters in Chinese New Year’s Painting. The aim is probably to enlighten for adult and emphasize human relations. The pictures reflect simple modes of people’s behave. This research not only summarizes the Chinese New Year’s Painting, but also discusses how to inherit and pass it to our offspring.In the world, all kinds of arts portray the women beauty. This research is aimed to sort the painting on various periods and regions, summarize the style on different periods, analyze the reasons for change of style, and find out the rules of change. Therefore, the analysis of this research could provide specific materials of female life from old times. Meanwhile, by absorbing the style of the Chinese New Year’s Painting, we could couple the traditional and modern arts. In this way, we could make modern arts become more valuable.
