As a social phenomenon, morality is an important issue both for cognitivedevelopment and socialized development of children and adolescents. Only byassociating moral standard and moral reasoning with moral behavior and makingthem integrated, social subject can accomplish the unity of knowing and doing, andinternal and external consistency. However, during the development of self-moralityof children and adolescents, individuals usually act in self-satisfied and self-worthyways. And meanwhile, they are inclined to avoid violating moral standard in order toavoid self sanctions, Bandura thought that the conflict between moral standard andharmful behavior is always resolved by selective disengagement of self-reproach, sothat moral disengagement happened, the cognitive process of moral disengagementcould make self adjusting control behavior have no effect. Since researchers paidattention to the area of moral disengagement, they have begun to study moraldisengagement of junior middle school students and its relation with externalizingproblem behavior, findings are as follows, relation between moral disengagement ofjunior middle school students (12-14 years old) and externalizing behavior is deeply.Whereas because influencing factors of adolescent moral disengagement and itsfactors are too many, externalizing of adolescents under different cultural backgroundare diverse, therefore the study plans to use a sample of junior high school in our cityto discuss relation between moral disengagement of junior high school students andexternalizing problem behavior, and to discuss the characteristic of moraldisengagement of junior high school students and factors related, furthermore toproclaim factors of moral engagement and its relation with externalizing problembehavior. Our Hope is that we can underlie taking active measures to decrease moraldisengagement of junior high school students and their externalizing problem behavior.Applying cross-sectional design, the present study used a sample of 432 studentswho were recruited from grade one to three in a middle school in the city of Weifang,self-reported questionnaires were administered to collect the data which includedstudents, cognitive factors(moral disengagement) and behavior variables(externalizingproblem behavior), to discuss moral disengagement and its relation with externalizingproblem behavior. The main conclusions were as follows:1. Significant grade difference in junior middle school students, moraldisengagement was observed, grade three adolescents had higher scores on moraldisengagement and its factors than those of grade one and grade two, in addition, grade two adolescents had higher scores on moral disengagement and its factors thanthose of grade one.2. Significant gender difference in junior middle school students, nonhumanization of moral disengagement, boys had higher scores on non humanizationthan that of girls.3. Except factors of favorable comparison and diffusion of responsibility, scoresof other factors and total scores had significant negative correlation with parents, levelof education.4. Junior middle school students, externalizing disorders had significant positivecorrelation with grade, the higher grade the higher scores of externalizing problembehavior.5. Scores of externalizing disorders had significant negative correlation withparents, level of education. Scores of externalizing problem behavior of adolescentswhose father’s educational level is above university are marginally below those ofadolescents, whose father’s educational level is below university. Similarly, scores ofexternalizing problem behavior of adolescents whose mother’s educational level isabove university are marginally below those of adolescents, whose mother’seducational level is below university.6. Out of the factor of diffusion of responsibility in junior middle school students, factors such as moral reason, euphemistic labeling, favorable comparison, transfer of responsibility, distort of results and non humanization and their total hadsignificant positive correlation with scores of adolescents, externalizing disorders, among these factors, moral reason and non humanization could significantly andpositively predict adolescents, externalizing problem behavior.
