Huizhou County, with its ancient name Xin’an, has got its name from XinzhouCounty in1121(the third year of King Song Huizong). This is the place where there arebeautiful mountains, clean rivers, intelligent people and profound field cultures and is theimportant area for Chinese culture. People in Huizhou County have had special gifts incultural fields, creating many schools and its features have posed great influence in Chinaas well as in the world, among which the wooden-door decoration is most outstanding.Through the practical study and research and combined with the historicaldevelopment of Huizhou district, its field characteristics and human traits, the author,inthe first four chapters, has given us a whole discussion and summary of the oringination,development, evolution and historical process of wooden-door decorations. In addition,the content and material, its artistic and economic values has been systematicallydiscussed, analysing its social background, customs and conventions, its economicconditions, artistic characteristics and its special devotions to the national culture and fieldcultures. For the last chapter, the author systematically introduced the construction ideasof Huizhou wooden-door decoration, discovering its basic construction rules and thepreference values and lessons by it.Huizhou wooden-door decoration has less valuable in its history for study andresearch and the systematic research is comparatively scarce. This article, throughcollection, sorting, analysis and summary of the patterns of Hiuzhou wooden-doordecoration, is aimed at making some contributions to protech and develop the profoundHuizhou culture. And based on it, more researchers can deeply study, making this culturalrelic better protech, pass down and develop.
