The Research On Ruhua Of Sanyan Erpai

In the1980s, Hu Shiying believes that Huaben itself has formed a complete system whichcan be divided into six parts: Subject，Pianshou， Ruhua，Touhui, Zhenghua and Ending. Thisidea has been recognized in the research field. But many researchers hold on the different views.They think Ruhua means entering into the part of Zhenghua. Pianshou, Ruhua and Touhui shouldbe included in Ruhua.Based on the former researches, the paper defines that Ruhua is the partbefore zhenghua.Pianshou, Ruhua, Touhui should be included in it. And according to their natureand function, the paper gives them different names as Ruhua poems, Ruhua explanations andremarks and Ruhua stories.Sanyan refers to the three story-telling novels written by Feng Menglong, namely JingshiTongyan、Xingshi Hengyan、Yushi Mingyan. Erpai refers to Chuke Paian Jingqi and Erke PaianJingqi, the two of which are written by Ling Mengchu. The five collections of short story-tellingnovels represent the summit of the story-telling novels in the ancient Chinese story-telling history.As an important part of story-telling novel, Ruhua is set as a fixed part in Sanyan and Erpai.In the early twentieth century, researchers have already paid attention to the unique structureof story-telling novel and have achieved some progress. But the research stays at the macro stageand don’t return to the text analysis in Sanyan Erpai. The structure is still needed studying. Thispaper mainly focuses on the Ruhua structure in Sanyan and Erpai. There are four parts you can seein the paper:In the first chapter, the paper outlines the general situation of Ruhua and distinguishes the twodefinitions: Ruhua and Touhui. Meanwhile, the paper cuts Ruhua into three parts: Ruhua poems,Ruhua explanations and remarks; Ruhua stories. And then, this paper analyzes why Ruhua isformed in the story-telling novels and draws the conclusion that Ruhua is influenced by Xing,which is one of six arts of The Book of Songs (Shi Jing), the trend of scholarly stylization and theinfluence of the ancient story-telling arts, especially the effect of Shujiang Bianwen in Tang period.In the second chapter, the paper focuses on the Ruhua Poems. We draw the conclusion thatthe poems play a big role in summarizing the themes of the story-telling novels, leading clues andlightening atmosphere and so on. The Ruhua poems improve the literal position of story-tellingnovels. What’s more, it is one of the performances of scholarly stylization.In the third chapter, the paper analyzes the Ruhua explanations and remarks; We discuss howthe Ruhua explanations and remarks works in novels. The paper draws the conclusion that this part shows strong civilized consciousness and their comments on the realism; expression about theirown ambition and aspiration.In the fourth chapter, the paper focuses on the Ruhua stories; It sums up the unique stand inthe aspects of types, language and functions, which bases on the accurate lists.Through the careful study on the text of Sanyan Erpai and scholarly papers, The paper drawsthe conclusion that Ruhua becomes a fixed part in Sanyan and Erpai. And Ruhua clearly shows thenarrators’ intention by the three parts of Ruhua.
