Zhang Min’s Distinctive Personal Writing

This paper attempts to analyze and discuss these characteristics of Zhang’s novels, andbased on this to assess the unique way of creation.The main contents of this paper are the personalized characteristics including the followingfour aspects:The first is the choosing of narrative space in Zhang’s novels."Campus" is the symbolicallogo of the space in Zhang’s novels, representing a closed, narrow, pure, inner space withouthistory continuity. This chapter mainly analyses the characteristics of these spaces and the reasonswhy Zhang Min has made such choice through introducing the choice of spaces in Zhang’s novel.The second is the expression of the desire of love. The main contents of Zhang’s novels arealways connected with the personal emotional experience and the desire for experiencing,especially expressing the conflicts and experiences. This chapter excavates the deep meaningbehind the scene of desire in appearance by analyzing the scene of desire.The third is the description of the secret relationships. He is keen on writing the secretrelationships between people, behind which the effects of power and moral exist. But the writerviews these "relationships" by using a transcendent and indifferent attitude.
