| The whole word is raising chinoiserie and Chinese studying popularity as theeconomy improving. In order to enlarge foreign local Chinese teacher team, From2009,Confucius Institute Headquarters set MTCSOL scholarship to people all over the worldwho are willing to teach Chinese, now Confucius scholarship foreign students arestudying in82different universities of China, Chongqing University and SouthwestUniversity are two qualified universities in Chongqing area. Literature search,questionnaire survey and interviewing method are used in this paper to investigate theMTCSOL cultivating situation, problem, influence factor and strategy. The thesis ismainly composed of6chapters.(1) This paper outlined MTCSOL foreign student education background, broughtup significance and purpose of the study, defined conceptions related to MTCSOLforeign student cultivating, and established research framework and methods of thestudy based on current situation of domestic and international research summarizing.(2) This paper interviewed the forming of MTCSOL foreign student program, andanalyzed MTCSOL foreign student cultivating model in terms of student recruiting,subject orientating, cultivation objectives and methods, curriculum designing andinternship.(3) This paper made empirical research, and the result shows:①the number ofboys is one third of the number of girls; most of them are from Asian countries; ages aremainly from23to25; most of students’ bachelor degree major is related to Chinese;73percent of students choosing MTCSOL program out of specialty or interest;②thecultivating objectives which the Academic Degree Commission of the State Councilmade are basically accomplished, but students are not confident to be a qualifiedChinese teacher;③students value language, culture and skill training courses, theevaluation about curriculum is not high, internship is difficult;④teachers’comprehensive quality is high, but they lack of Chinese culture teaching skills orattention;⑤the management level of university should be improved;⑥curriculum isthe most serious problem of MTCSOL foreign student education;⑦most of studentshope to engage in jobs related to Chinese education;(4) This paper analyzed TESOL of English countries, the referenced object ofMTCSOL, from TESOL Association to MA TESOL program in university, elaborated its development, teaching qualifications, subject orientating, curriculum, cultivationobjectives and methods, summarized some referenced experience.(5) Based on questionnaire survey and reference of international related experience,this paper proposed MTCSOL foreign student cultivating strategies: improvemanagement level of university; enrich school-based course building, set up Chineseculture learning group; build professional teaching team, enhance teachers’comprehensive quality; pay attention to student’s need in teaching method choosing,focus on student’s skill and qualification cultivating; expand MTCSOL foreign studentrecruiting channel, attract more excellent students; establish effective student internshipchannels, give full play to internship; absorb excellent social resources to improveuniversity condition and create a good Chinese studying atmosphere. |
