For centuries, the Chinese thinkers developed a fierce controversy about whetherConfucianism is a religion or not. The answer and attitude of modern Confucians isparticularly noteworthy in deep study. As a representative figure of the secondgeneration of modern Neo-Confucianism, Mou put forward their own insights, not onlyopened the new vision of discussing whether Confucianism is a religion, but alsopointed out the new direction of the modern development of Confucianism. The third chapter discusses Mou’s "moral religion" and point out that Mou’s theory depends on Kant’s philosophy,as Confucianism is the theoreticalbasis of the morality of religion。Last but not least, this Paper holds the view that Mou’s Confucian view of religionprovides new ideas for answering whether Confucianism is a religious issue, not only toa certain extent, to resolve the religious (or religious spirit Confucianism), thecontradiction of the religious systems, but also for the modern development ofConfucianism pointed a new direction or important revelation。...
