Traveling on one hand as an excursive way to mould the temperament, relieve theloneliness and grief and tour the scenic spots and on the other hand extraordinarily refined,searching and cloistered touring approach has always been enjoyed by Chinese ancient menof letters. The open political policy, prosperous economy in the Tang dynasty built thematerial and social environment for then scholars in travelling. Of whom, Libai could becalled the distinctive representation. Throughout his life, the two travelling experience hasexerted great impact to his poems creation. The poems during this period had much differencein thought, style and creation way with the poems in the common period. This dissertationbegins with this point, discussing and illustrating the influence of travelling upon the creationand content and transmission of the travelling poems. Hence, the dissertation is composed offour chapters. Chapter one is the scholars’ travelling in Tang dynasty. It mainly introduces theorigin of the travelling and the travelling in Tang dynasty and concludes the advantage ofTang’s travelling and the types of the scholars. It also illustrates the effects that travellingbring on scholars when they wrote poems.Chapter two describes Libai’s two travellingexperience and its reasons. It analyses the influence of life in tour on choosing descriptiveobject, writing techniques and artistic forms when writing poems in that period; Chapter threeis the traveling poem of Li Bai, which is the main point of the paper. In this chapter, theauthor elaborates main types, thought and features etc.of traveling poems, and analyses thedifference between the influences on writing poems in two tours in the whole life of LiBai.Chapter four states the spreading and influence of Libai’s travelling poems, respectivelyexpounding the spreading reasons, spreading circumstance and impact and condition ofspreading.
