A Study On The Poems Of LiBai And DuFu During The Anshi's Rebellion

The Anshi's Rebellion was a turning point for the Tang Dynasty. LiBai and DuFu, two of the poems quantity are most during this historic period wrote many poems (LiBai wrote more than 200 poems and DuFu wrote more than 300 poems). The two poets are from prosperous Tang-dynasty, LiBai in the south, was accused of following Duke Yong (LiLin), so he was put in to Prison and then exiled. DuFu in the north, due to his trying to rescue FangGuan dismissed by Su-zong, so he was demoted to Huazhou. One year later, DuFu gave up his position as an official and wandered destitute on Southwest China. The lives of the two poets are quite similar. Poems in this historic period should draw our attentions. Is this stage poetry creation quantity most two poetsThis thesis includes four parts:Part I:The overview of LiBai and DuFu's poetry writing during the time of Anshi's Rebellion. This part includes the basic information and the obvious changing stage of these poems written by the two poets during the historic time of Anshi's Rebellion. The Rebellion inspired the poets' creative passion; meanwhile their lives were frequently changed in respect to time and space. The contents of the poems and the poets' own aesthetic observation were changed with the poets' sufferings and their mind state of creation.Part II:On the Poesy of LiBai and DuFu during the Anshi's Rebellion in a perspective on the content. Many academic studies on the contents of the poems can be found, so in this thesis it's simply discussed. Community involvement, concern on current situation and deep feelings for the people made LiBai and DuFu could create many magnificent poems with open artistic conception. Meanwhile, in the new period of history, the trends of thoughts in the literature are simple and plain. The LiBai's poems created during the historic time of rebellion tend to realism; DuFu's poems of that time revealed the reality deeper and reached a peak of realism.Part III:On the poems of LiBai and DuFu during the Anshi's Rebellion in a perspective of the artistic form, the form changing itself is a complex process. This thesis studies the poems by combing the artistic form, social change of the time, and mind state of creation together, not only concerning the style but also exploring the cultural significance embodied in the poems. During the Anshi's Rebellion, the artistic form choices of YueFu, Metrical verse including five-characters poem (consisting of eight lines and five characters in each line) and seven-characters poem (consisting of eight lines and seven characters in each line), Free body poetry including five-characters and seven-characters by LiBai and DuFu, as well as poem internal structure, changes in the form of rhetorical are not accidental. It's formed by the poets' extension of their own view of life and the style development itself, it's also adapt to the need of war times.Partâ…£: The value of LiBai and DuFu's poems during the Anshi's Rebellion. In this part, the aesthetic value and historic value of LiBai and DuFu's poetry created during the Anshi's Rebellion are briefly analyzed in terms of the value of life and literature. Meanwhile, the different viewpoints of later generations on the value of LiBai and DuFu's poems during the Anshi's Rebellion are discussed in this part.
