When students are not interested in learning or lack of motivation but no way out,they will feel tired, fatigue, depression and frustration, resulting in a series of inappropriate behaviour to escape from learning, which we called "learning burnout".Learning burnout is a kind of negative mental state, and can be defined by the three dimensions of dejection,improper behaviour and reduced personal accomplishment.According to some survey, in some college schools, the truancy rate of basic courses is above25%, meanwhile the number is20%in specialized courses,and as for some courses like philosophy and political economy,the number is even reached to50%.40%of the students who is weary of study is the people who dislike the major they studied.At present, the research on the reason affecting the learning burnout mostly focus on psychology field, including the self-efficacy, learning initiative,learning attitude learning interest,etc, which emphasis on the analysis of subjective factors and is lack of clear explanation in social factors.Role theory is one of the important theory in social psychology, and role conflicts refers to the individual heart or emotional conflicts and contradictions caused by his or her unable to satisfy the multiple role demands and expectations. Role conflicts theory plays an important role in occupation burnout in previous research, especially in the teachers’ occupation burnout. On the basis of previous surveys, the author composed " College students’ role conflicts questioner", and combined with "College students learning burnout scale", with Beijing University of Technology students as the research object, the author attempts to investigate the basic state of the college students’ learning burnout and try doing the correlation research between the role conflict and learning burnout.On the condition of our investigation, we get the following conclusions:1. There is no significant difference in gender on learning burnout and its dimensions.2. There were significant difference grade differences in the learning burnout performance, the points of learning burnout in students of grade one was significantly higher than the other two grades’. The overall tendency is the level of learning burnout in grade one, grade two, and grade three reduced gradually, especially in the dimension of reduced personal accomplishments, while no significant difference in the other two dimensions.3. In the professional curriculum, liberal arts students’ learning burnout level and all its three dimensions were significantly lower than the science and engineering students’.4. There is a significant difference in political status of the college students’ learning burnout. The Party member has a lower level in learning burnout and its three dimensions than the League member, while the public people has the highest level.5. There is no difference in the household distribution on the students’ overall learning burnout score, however, the students of city household registration has a lower level in the dimension of reduced personal accomplishment than the students of rural areas and town household registration.6. Network role and student role are significantly related to the learning burnout.7. Even though Party members have lower learning burnout scores, they are not willing to fulfill the obligation to play an exemplary role in daily life and study.
