Experimental Study On Retroflex Suffixation Voice Among Intermediate Chinese Level Thai Students

This thesis studies the Thai students’ pronunciation of Retroflex suffixation voicein the aspects of phonetic length and formant by the the method of experimentalphonetics and the technology of sound spectrum. By doing comparative analysisabout the Retroflex suffixation voice data in the aspects of phonetic length andformantF3, we discovered that there are some certain differences in terms of Retroflexsuffixation voice pronunciation between the Chinese students and the Thai students.They reflect that there are some problems in the aspects of Thai students’pronunciation of Retroflex suffixation voice. Then we analyse the reasons of thedifference. And last this thesis puts forward some targeted teaching strategies andteaching suggestions in the hope of helping Thai students learn better in Retroflexsuffixation voice.
