Teaching materials are the basis of teaching and teaching activities,while texts are the main body of language teaching materials. The contentsof the texts play quite an important role in whether a textbook can bewelcomed by the learners. CLIMBMING UP——A Intermediate ChineseCourse(hereinafter referred to as CLIMBMING UP) and BRIDGE——A PracticalIntermediate Chinese Course (hereinafter referred to as BRIDGE) are bothoutstanding intermediate Chinese textbooks compiled by Chinese editors,and widely used in Vietnam universities. The text layout of each sets oftextbooks has its advantages, however, as compiled by Chinese editors,both of them are not suitable enough for Chinese teaching in Vietnam.So, after describing the general situation and development of Chineseteaching in Vietnam Universities,this thesis research on the texts ofthese two sets of textbooks, by comparing the theme, genre, length,language difficulty, fun and practicality of the texts. We try to findtheir advantages and insufficient, and by combining the results of questionnaire investigation for students, we try to discuss what shouldbe paid special attention to when compiling texts of intermediate Chineseintensive textbooks for Vietnam.
