With the English is becoming more universal at home, English curriculumresources become increasingly important. English curriculum resources are the learningmaterials and ancillary facilities which contribute to the implementation of the Englishcourse,the achievement of course objectives, the development of students’ ability to uselanguage and the improvement of teacher quality under the guidance of the EnglishCurriculum Standards. This research analyses the meaning, classification andcharacteristics of English curriculum resources from the perspective of new curriculumstandard. Research investigates and studies the development and utilization of Englishcurriculum resources of primary and middle schools in part of districts and counties ofChongqing section via questionnaires and interviews and other methods. Mainlyinvestigates the present situation of English curriculum resources, understanding ofEnglish curriculum resources for teachers, and the development of English curriculumresources for teachers. So that we can understand the real situation of the curriculumresources development and utilization for the county-level English teachers, and thedifficulties they face and their needs.Study finds the following issues: one is that teachers master not enough the Englishcurriculum standards and English curriculum resources. With lack of awareness andlimited capacity, they cannot develop effectively. The second is at present very littlecurriculum resources for teachers to use, if any, are neglected. The third is lack ofsupport, such as funding, time, etc. Analysis of these issues can enrich the existingtheories of curriculum resources, can provide real case and the basis for further study ofcurriculum resources, can also provided some basis of reality and methods for the entirestudy of curriculum resources in Chongqing. In response to these problems, this studyputs forward some countermeasures of English curriculum resources development andutilization for districts and counties:1) Strengthen teacher quality and the consciousnessof curriculum resources.2)Schools to strengthen management of curriculum resources.3)Establish resource sharing platform for resource sharing of different schools.4)Establish the protection mechanisms, including funding and time guarantee. Thesecountermeasures raised will help teachers establish a correct concept of Englishcurriculum resources development and utilization,help teachers grow. Are conducive tothe development of the practice of English curriculum resources and the implementation of the new curriculum reform. Can optimize existing English teaching, enrich teachingways and content, can also provide schools with reference of resources allocation.Eachschool can compare their school reality with this study, to make some necessarysupplement and allocation, that can be conducive to the development of Englishteaching in their schools.
