On The Image Of Spirits In The Series Of Notes On Historical Records Of The Qing Dynasty

The Series Of Qing Dynasty Historical Note compiled 38 kinds of historical notes, which contains a large number of images of ghosts and gods. At present, the research of this aspect is relatively weak. Only Chi Bei Ou Tan and Lv Yuan Cong Hua receiving more attention,the whole research papers and monographs on the images of ghosts and gods are not seen. This paper tries to give an overall view to images of ghosts and gods in The Series Of Qing Dynasty Historical Note and explore the qualities of images of spirits in historical notes.This thesis can mainly be divided into three parts. The first part is to do a statistic on the images of ghost and gods in The Series Of Qing Dynasty Historical Note, and at the same time, I will roughly categorize them on the base of the statistical date. “Ghost image” is divided into the underworld officials, animal ghost, and human ghost. "God image" is divided into plant god, animal god, local protection god, ancestor god. It can help us clarify the images of ghosts and gods, and it’s also the base of the paper. The second part is to explore the subject about the images of ghost and gods, focus on kindness relationship, resentment relationship, author’s satire and criticism to the morbid society, the description to love world and filial piety world. I will try hard to show the motivation of author why he portrayed “the flower genie and the fox goblin all possess human touch”, and try to show the variety of the images at all levels. The third part researches the artistic characteristics of works on the basis of the two parts, including plot design, description method. It could make us understand the images of spirits and the complex dynamics of the author portraying them deeply.
