Zhang Ling’s novels attract widespread attention and praise in foreign and domestic area.Her novels convey the thinking of the common humanity in leapfrog writing. As a Christian,Zhang Ling was affected by Western Christian culture. However, in recent years, most of theresearchers focus on her subject matter, language and gender,while few of them pay attention tothe unique " priest" images. This "priest" shows profound meaning, appearing frequently in thenovel. Its shape exhibits different cultural choices and cultural standpoint of Zhang Ling. Herworks present a new change of cultural identity and sense of belonging. Zhang Ling’s writing hastranscended the deadly cultural identity crisis form the new immigrant writers, which tends toexpress the common nature of human beings.Therefore, in this paper, we are using "identity" theory of post-colonial theory and theory ofimage to study Zhang Ling’s novels. We center "priest" to explore and analyze the "priest" image,comprising with other new immigrant writers’"priest" image and arming to study the differentimaginations and presentations of the "priest" image. At the same time, we are exploring ZhangLing how to look back to homeland in different historical periods and cultural soil." Priest ", as"the other" image of the writing strategy, conveys re-construction self cultural identity and thedesire for the humanity communion under the cultural commonalities, also providing a newinterpretation to study Zhang Ling, the new immigrant writer.
