The fourteen years, from September 1931 to August 1945, during which Japan invaded and occupied Northeast China is named as“Puppet Manchuria Period”. Although this is a humiliating and painful memory that we can not ignore, from the academic research of view, it still should be rational evaluated cultural phenomenon and long-term effects in this stage. In order to improve the history of music education in China, this paper rationally analyzed the impact and significance of Puppet Music Education on the fields of Chinese music education system, the development of specialized music education, professional music training, and so on. Changchun, Jilin Province, was the seat of government of Manchukuo, where many important policies and commands were issued and implemented, thus the investigative geographical scope of this paper was located in Changchun area.To strengthen spirit of the rule and publicize enslavement ideology, Puppet Government accords great importance to the review and control of music education in school, clearly defining the educational purposes, curriculum standards, teaching contents, textbooks, ceremony music under the policies of so-called“goodwill between Japan and Manchuria”and“national fundamental principles”. Although the school music education in this period deviate the nature of art education and rule out the beauty in art itself, it is part of modern Chinese music history, to some extent, promoting the professional development of music in China and bringing up many outstanding music educators and music talents.This paper draws on existing Manchuria Period cultural studies and music education research results, as well as a large amount of original files, documents, newspapers at that time, and then systematically presents the guidelines, curriculum standards, teaching contents, compilation and publication of textbooks, applications of textbooks, and ceremony music of music education in general Manchuria schools. In addition, this paper also involves the construction of specialized music organizations and training of professional musical talents, as well as some music activities of anti- Manchukuo and anti-Japanese school communities. In summary, this paper specifically and systematically describes all aspects of music education in general Manchuria schools, which may make some contribution to improve and consummate the school education and music history in Puppet Manchuria Period.
