A Clinical Study Of Rugosa Ginseng Capsule On Perimenopausal Osteoporosis

Objective:To discuss the clinical effect of Rugosa Ginseng capsule on perimenopausal osteoporosis of60perimenopausal osteoporosis women were selected.Methods:Famale patients(60cases)with perimenopausal osteoporosis accompanied by deficiency of the liver and kidney (32cases) and imbalance between heart-yang and kidney-yin (28cases) were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group (rugosa ginseng capsule group) and control group (Gengnianxin capsule group),30cases in each group. The treatment effect was observed through recording the scores of symptoms and signs, measuring calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase avtivity in seurm, and determining mineral density (BMD) in distal radius.Results:(1) According to the evaluation standard of treatment effect on traditional Chinese medicine symptom, the results indicated that both two groups generally showed curative effect to some extent, the total effective rate in treatment group was90%, with significant difference when compared with control group (P＜0.05).(2) Compared between before and after treatment, scores of main symptoms and signs of two groups showed obvious difference (P＜0.05), symptoms of lumbar back pain,Hot flashes sweat out, fidgets irritability, insomnia, dizziness tinnitus and tibial debility in treatment group was significantly higher(P＜0.05),and treatment effect are positively correlated with medication courses in both group.(3) Alteration of bone mineral density in distal radius in two groups showed significant difference when compared with before and after treatment (P＜0.05), and the treatment group was better than control group.(4) The contents of serum calcium and phosphorus in two treatment groups increased obviously when compared between before and after treatment (P＜0.05), while alkaline phosphatase decreased significantly (P＜0.05).Conclusion:Rugosa Ginseng capsule not only improved the clinical effect and scores of main symptoms and signs than control group but also increased the content of BMD, serum calcium and phosphate, and meanwhile decreased the serum level of alkaline phosphatase. Rugosa Ginseng capsule showed a very good treatment effect on osteoporosis in perimenopausal period.
