Research On The Application Of Continuous Quality Improvement System In Nursing Quality Management

Objective:To establish a suitable continuous quality improvement system;To improve the nursing staff’s mastery to the knowledge of nursing safety; To improve the effect of nursing safety management; Thus to improve the patients’satisfaction to nursing work.Methods:1:Baseline data investigation:Select5departments from the internal medicine departments and5departments from the surgical medicine departments in our hospital randomly, select10hospitalized patients from each of the10departments according to the method of random numbers before the establishment of persistent quality improvement system, to investigate the satisfaction to nurses’ job in the total of100patients. Select50nurses from our hospital according to the method of random numbers and give them a test of nursing safety knowledge. Review the nursing adverse events of our hospital in2011, analysis the problems exist in nursing safety management, held nursing stall forums to learn the relevant baseline data.2:To establish a persistent quality improvement system in our hospital through literatures studying and experts consulting, determine the specific task division of personnel and working laws, establish an adverse events management platform based on network, improve the nursing adverse events management by using the quality improvement tools (PDCA).3:Select100patients for nursing job satisfaction survey and50nurses for nursing safety knowledge test according to the baseline survey methods12months after the persistent quality improvement system was established. Analysis the data of nursing adverse events management after the persistent quality improvement system was established and compare with baseline data, in order to approve the validity of the persistent quality improvement system.4:The enumeration data were compared with χ2test, the measurement data were analyzed by using the t test. A p value of<0.05was considered statistically significant. Observe the occurrence trend of nursing adverse events by fold line chart drawing.Results:1:The occurrence rate of nursing adverse events decreased from3.8%to3.6%, the reporting rate increased from85%to92%and the timeliness rate increased from73%to96%after the establishment of the persistent quality improvement system.2:There was no significant difference in nurses’general data before and after improvement. Nurses’test scores on nursing safety knowledge improved significantly, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).3:The satisfaction of the inpatients to nursing care improved, there was a significant difference of statistical data. The difference of nurses’informs and nursing-patient communications were significant (P<0.01).Conclusions:The persistent quality improvement system can improve the nursing staff’s awareness of the adverse event management, improve the adverse event reporting rate and timely rate, it is beneficial to safe care management, so as to improve the patients’ satisfaction to nursing work.
