Clinical Efficacy And Safety Observation Of Bi Zheng Ning On Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of the Prescription of BiZheng Ning combined with conventional western medicine on thetreatment of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) with Fenghanshi-syndrome.Toexplore the advantage of integrative Medicine treatment of RA.Methods:60cases of RA patients with Fenghanshi-syndrome were selectedas the research subjects and were divided into two groups randomly.30cases were selected as subjects treated by TCM prescription of BiZheng Ning,and combined with conventional western medicine such asMethotrexate, Leflunomide for three months.30cases were selected ascontrasts,treated only by conventional western medicine as above andtheir periods of treatment were the same.Before and after treatment,the changes of the patients’symptoms,physical signs，the levels of CRP、ESR、RF、anti-CCP andIL-6、MMP-3，the function of joint and X line，as well as the curativeeffects of TCM syndrome and total clinic effective rate were observedand were dealed with statistics analysis.The examination of blood routine,urine routine,fecal routine and liver function were taken assafety indices to determine whether the prescription of Bi Zheng Ninghaving side effects and having the effect to reduce the side effects ofwestern medicine.Results:1.The percentage of patients achieving ACR20、ACR50in thesubject group were86.7%、53.3%，and the contrast group were53.3%、16.7%,there has significant difference between two groups(P＜0.05);The percentage of patients achieving ACR70in the subject group22.6%，and the contrast group were6.7%，there has no significantdifference between two groups(P＞0.05).2.The curative effects of TCM syndrome of subjects(93.3%) wasmuch better than those of contrasts(73.3%)(P＜0.05).3.After treating, patients’ symptoms, physical signs weresignificantly improved than pre-treatment in both two group (P＜0.05).Itindicates that two groups all can improve the index of swelled joint，painful joint，painful time，dual grips strength，painful VAS values andthe function of joint.And the effects above of subjects were better thanthose of contrasts(P<0.05).4.After treating,the levels of CRP,ESR,RF,anti-CCP,IL-6andMMP-3were significantly decreased than pre-treatment in both twogroup (P<0.05).And the effects above of subjects were better thanthose of contrasts(P<0.05).5.The side-effective rate of subjects(10.0%) was much lower thanthose of contrasts(33.3%)(P<0.01).Conclusion:BiZheng Ning combined with conventional western medicine canfurther improve the clinical effects，relieve the clinical symptoms and physical signs,reduce the levels of CRP，ESR，IL-6，MMP-3，andimprove the curative effects of TCM symptoms and the function of joint，so as to improve the quality of life of RA patients withFenghanshi-syndrome.There is not obvious side effect of Bi ZhengNing，and it had effects to reduce the side effects of conventionalwestern medicine to a certain degree.
