Objective:This study want to explore the relationship between melatonin and thetheory--“xin” adjusts to summer which belongs to the theory of “Five-zang organsadjust to the seasons”.Some substance which related to the theory of “xin”adjusts tosummer will be explored in order to understand this theory from biological andpathological.Methods:Fifrty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into the blank group,the pinealectomy group,the sham-operated group,the “xin-qi” deficiency syndromegroup.The levels of MLT in serum, ANP in plasma and M-AChR in heart were measuredby using ELISA on the day of “xia-zhi”.Results:Compared with blank group and sham-operated group,the MLT level inserum were decreased in pinealectomy group;the ANP level in plasma of pinealectomygroup was lower than that of blank group.The MLT level in serum, the ANP level inplasma and the M-AChR level in heart of“xin-qi”deficiency syndrome group were lowerthan those of blank group.Conclusion:The decrease of plasma ANP in pinealectomy group may be related tothe deficiency of MLT.ANP may be a sort of interdiary substance which participate in theregulating process that the MLT act on the cardiovascular system. The“xin-qi”deficiencysyndrome rats’ability of adjusting to summer is decreased. |
