Objective:To investigate the expression and the significance of Cyclin E and Bcl-2in rectum carcinoma. Methods:The expression of cyclin E and bcl-2were examined by using immunohistochemical techniques(S-P)assay in42cases of rectum carcinoma and20cases of rectum adenomas and20cases of normal rectum mucosa. Laboratory data were then analysed statistically together with the related clinical and pathological data. Results:cyclin E was mainly expressed in nucleus; Bcl-2Was mainly expressed in cytoplasm.1. Expressions of cyclin E in various lesions of rectum carcinoma:The expression of cyclin E in rectum carcinoma (66.7%) Was significantly higher than that of in rectum adenomas(20%)and normal rectum mucosa(0%).The positive expression in three groups of tissue were significant (x2=29.329, P=0.000). There was no significant association between cyclin E and age, gender, histological grade, tumor stage, metastasis of lymph node.2. Expressions of bcl-2in various lesions of rectum carcinoma:The expression of bcl-2in rectum carcinoma (35.7%) Was significantly lower than that of in rectum adenomas(70%)and normal rectum mucosa(85%).The positive expression in three groups oftissue were significant(x2=29.329, P=0.000). There was no significant association between bcl-2and age, gender, histological grade, tumor stage, metastasis of lymph node.3.The relationship between cyclin E and bcl-2:There was no correlation between the expression of cyclin E and bcl-2in the rectum carcinoma tissues(Spearman correlation coefficient r=-0.105P=0.506).Conclusion:1. The expression of cyclin E in rectum carcinoma was significantly higher than that in rectum adenomas and normal rectum tissues, which show it was highly associated with the occurrence and development of the rectum carcinoma.2. The expression of bcl-2in rectum carcinoma was significantly lower than that in rectum adenomas and normal rectum tissues, which show it was highly associated with the early occurrence of the rectum carcinoma.3. Both of cyclin E and bcl-2had no significant association with age, gender, histological grade, tumor stage, metastasis of lymph node.4.During the occurrence and development of the rectum carcinoma, there was no significant association between cvclin E and bcl-2.
