ObjectiveIn order to observe the differences between the variance ofbrain functional imaging and cervical spondylosis after acupun-cture on Lieque point,we apply the technique of fMRI in nor-mal subjects and patients. Our purpose is to investigate theintrinsic link between the treatment of cervical disease byacupuncture on Lieque point and brain function activated areas. In addition, we also want to reveal the mechanism ofacupunctureon Lieque point in the treatment of cervical spondylosis.Methods20patients in Normal group (students of Hubei Universityof Chinese Medicine and the volunteers from Society,2012,5-2012,12,12males and8females. Years of age from22to55,mean age is30±1.4);20patients In Cervical spondylosisgroup (all from the First Hospital of Wuhan acupunctureoutpatient,2012,5-2012,12,11males and9females. Years ofage from22to55, mean age is32±1.5).All subjects were right-handed, select the right liequepoint to acupuncture stimulation. All subjects by the sameacupuncturist to acupuncture. Acupuncturist using sterile stainless steel needles for acupuncture, the vertical needledepth of0.5to0.8inch, reinforcing-reducing techniques twistthe needle after the gasApplication of General Electric Company the3.0T GE signaHDXT MRI system blood oxygen level-dependent magnetic resonanceimaging to observe the changes in the acupuncture and all thesubjects in the process of acupuncture brain function area. EPIsequence scan parameters: TR=3000ms, TE=40ms, FA=90°,the scan matrix96×96, slice thickness5mm layer away from0mm, every3seconds to29layers of images covering the wholebrain, scanning a total of6minutes and24seconds, brainfunction is activated area in the resting state functionalbrain imaging and acupuncture. And experimental data obtainedfor statistical analysis. Use SPM8software data processing, statistical analysis, analysis of test data on a single group, and the same group data for the one-sample t-test, and displaythe results with xjview8software. Its statistical thresholdvalue is set as p <0.05Alphasim corrected for multiplecomparisons.Result1. There were2cases and1case subjects in normal groupand cervical spondylosis group respective were excluded due toexcessive head shaking during the experiment. So normal groupincluding18patients; cervical spondylosis group including17cases.2. In the normal group, acupunctured lieque points mainlyactivated:Bilateral inferior parietal lobule, the centralgyrus, posterior central gyrus, superior temporal gyrus, middle temporal gyrus and inferior frontal gyrus, and the insularcortex of the left side of the brain (successively sequencearranged according to the voxel value of activated size inbrain).3. In the Cervical spondylosis group, acupunctured liequepoints mainly activated: Bilateral cerebellum, the inferiorparietal lobule, the central frontal gyrus, superior temporalgyrus, occipital lobe. And the left side of the brain’stemporal gyrus and post-central gyrus(successively sequencearranged according to the voxel value of activated size inbrain).ConclusionAcupuncture on Lieque point can activate multiplefunctionalareas in normal human brain, its activation and indications ofdisease have a certain correlation. Cervical spondylosispatients and normal brain activations has many similar point, but the patients with cervical spondylosis brain activationshas its specificity, the treatment effect of acupuncture onLieque point for cervical spondylopathy patients presumablybecause of acupuncture play a role on the specific brainregions.
