Background and objective: lung cancer is a common malignant tumor,its incidence and fatality rate in malignant tumors are locatedin the forefront, and with the acceleration of population agingsociety, the proportion of elderly patients with lung cancer aregradually increased, currently has a variety of ways in thetreatment of elderly patients with lung cancer, in this article,through analysis the senile non-small cell lung cancer patientswho were treated at china-japan union hospital of Jinlinuniversity between2009and2012, sums up the clinicalcharacteristics and treatment methods for senile non-small celllung cancer patients.Statistics of materials and methods: statistics178cases whowas diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (age70or higher)in our hospital since2009to2012, According to patients’ age,gender, tumor location, treatment, and so on and so forth aregrouped, using Excel2003for grouping data, using the chi-squaretest comparing differences between groups, P <0.05, the thoughtdifference was statistically significant.Results: On age distribution of elderly patients with lung cancer, the total number of male patients than women, but men and womenwith the proportion of the number is shrinking; As the growth ofthe age, surgery treatment, reduce the number of patients ingeneral surgery patients with fewer than non-surgical treatmentof patients; After more than80years old, most of the patientsnot to actively anti-tumor treatment, only give generalsymptomatic treatment; Due to factors such as gene mutations andcost constraints, number of targeted therapy in patients with theleast; Along with the growth of the age gradually lowered theproportion of treatment.Conclusions: Elderly patients with lung cancer in gender, and agedistribution has its own characteristics. Age is not absolutetaboo of elderly patients with lung cancer surgery, preoperativecollecting medical history in detail, the physiological andpsychological status in patients with a good understanding,reasonable operation method choice, can make old age get goodoutcomes for patients with non-small cell lung cancer; Forelderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer, its treatmentis not a single surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy ortargeted therapy, requires a combination of patients situation,formulate reasonable comprehensive treatment scheme.
