Objective: To explore the detectability of micro-pure imagingsystem in breast lumps and also the clinical application value indiagnosing breast cancer preliminary, according to compare thesensitivity and specificity of the micro-calcifications in breast mass bymicro-pure imaging system, ultrasonography and mammography. Methods: Sixty-seven patients who are all of female breast massespatients without any chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment in the FirstBethune Hospital of Jilin University between October2011andDecember2012. After operation pathological diagnosis, total71lumpsare confirmed as breast tumor accompanied micro-calcifications, andthere are four patients who have2lumps located at both side of breast orjust located in one side. All of patients are accepted the examinations thatare micro-pure imaging system, ultrasonography and mammographybefore the operation, and separately record the situation of calcification inlumps which is used for statistical analysis. Results: Based on sixty-seven patients who have total71breastlumps, micro-pure imaging system detects59lumps withmicro-calcification in which there are46malignant lumps and13benignones. Ultrasnongraphy detects48lumps with micro-calcification in whichthere are37malignant lumps and11benign ones. Moreover, mammography detects63lumps with micro-calcification in which thereare48malignant and15benign lumps. Three imaging methods,micro-pure imaging system, ultrasonography and mammography, show that the total detection rate of micro-calcification in breast lumps are83.1%,90.2%and65%. The detection rate of micro-calcification inmalignant lumps is67.6%,72.5%and55.0%. And in benign lumps, thedetection rate of micro-calcification is88.7%,94.1%and75%. Inaddition, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the three imagingways which are used for diagnosing micro-calcification in breast lumpsare78.0%,58.3%,74.6%;77.1%,39.1%,64.8%;76.2%、87.5%、77.5%respectively.Conclusion:1. There would appear plenty of micro-calcifications,especially distribute by tufted micro-calcifications in breast lumps, whichis a very important sign for ultrasonography in diagnosing breast cancer.Micro-pure imaging system has a significant clinical value in diagnosingbreast cancer, especially in more than40years old women.2. Comparedwith ultrasonography, micro-pure imaging system could dramaticallyimprove the detection rate of micro-calcification in breast lumps, and it isequally matched with mammography.3. The micro-calcificationdistribution of invasive ductal carcinoma is tufted, and intraductalcarcinoma is along the duct. Maybe it is a regular pattern, but it need weto confirm further. The feature of Micro-pure imaging system is it canshow more tufted micro-calcification.
