“Antidote” theory is one of the most special theories which full of ethniccharacteristics of Dai medicine. It is an important component of the basic theories oftraditional medicine. This theory is originated from the accumulation of Dai people’slong-term practice of medicine. Therefore, the value of it deserves more researcheson it. In recent years, the development of Chinese medicine has gained more andmore attention domestically and externally. After a long period of exploration,reorganization, and researches, Dai medicine has made great achievement onacademic research and pharmaceutical research. However, the related knowledge of“Antidote” theory which are scattered in different kinds of medical literature andfolk Dai medicine, still lack of deeper excavation and better arrangement for thewhole system. Under this background, we should seize the favorable time andopportunity and the rich natural resources in Yunnan area, and prepare well for theresearch on the basic theories of “Antidote” theory, in order to provide better clinicalservices, and promote the development of national medical and health undertakingsin the border area.This topic has been through research on literatures, survey on field and otherresearch methods, in different aspects, such as philosophy, history, culture, andenvironment and so on, to reorganize the origin and background of Dai medicine’s“Antidote” theory. Also, it has analyzed the Philosophical Basis and connotation of“Antidote” theory. It has preliminarily clarified regularity and characteristics ofusing drugs of “Antidote” theory, application rules of modern medical medicine. According to the research, it shows that “Antidote” theory of Dai medicine andthe clinical indications of solution to prescription medicine are broad. Especially fordiseases of digestive system, respiratory system, nervous system, immune system,reproductive system, urinary system and other aspects have certain curative effect. Italso provides positive effects on the disease prevention of local Dai people. To dignew theoretical system from traditional Dai medicine is an important supplementarypart of modern clinical medicine. The author has discussed the application ofpreventing before getting the disease of “Antidote” theory of Dai medicine, so wecan see that “Antidote” theory is the highly summarization of the preventivemedicine of Dai medicine, and it has certain scientificity and perceptiveness.“Antidote” theory emphasizes the balance between human, nature and society, sothat four elements and five Skandhas can be dynamically equilibrium. Under thiscircumstance, it can achieve the goal of physically and psychologically health, andalso be correspond to the modern medical model of between bio, psycho and social.“Antidote” theory has provided the theoretic and practical basis of modern science ofprevention, constitution theory and the prevention of sub-health. Meanwhile, it alsoprovides essential theoretic basis and instructive significance for the treatment ofmany common diseases, and frequently occurring illness and critical illness.
