ObjectiveBy detect the expressions of gene associated with retinoid-interferonmortality-19(GRIM-19) and its target gene product signal transducers andactivators of transcription3(STAT3) in human duodenum carcinomas, theexpression of Helicobacter pylori(Hp) in human duodenum carcinoma, duodenalgastritis and ulcer. Discuss GRIM-19and STAT3effects in occurrence anddevelopment of duodenum carcinoma, and the relationship with Hp infection.Methods32specimens of duodenum carcinomas,30specimens of duodenalgastritis and ulcer tissues were included in this study. The expressions ofGRIM-19, STAT3and Hp protein were determined by immunohistochemistry. And evaluating the difference in duodenum carcinoma tissues and duodenalgastritis and ulcer tissues, Analyse the correlations of the expressions andclinicopathologic characteristics.ResultsThe protein expression of GRIM-19in duodenum carcinoma tissues wereobviously lower than that in duodenal gastritis and ulcer tissues (P<0.05).Furthermore, The protein expression of GRIM-19was correlated to celldifferentiation(P<0.01); the protein expression of STAT3in duodenumcarcinoma tissues were obviously higher than duodenal gastritis and ulcertissues (P<0.01), and the expression of STAT3was correlated to celldifferentiation, lymphatic metastasis(P <0.01).The significantly negative correlation was found between The expression of GRIM-19and STAT3induodenum carcinoma tissues(r=﹣0.470,P<0.01). The expression of Hp induodenal gastritis and ulcer tissues(73.3﹪), The expression of Hp in duodenumcarcinoma tissues(34.4﹪). There was significant difference among differenthistological types(P<0.05). In the duodenum carcinomas the positive rates ofGRIM-19and STAT3expression of gastric gatinoma in Hp-positive andHp-negative group(P>0.05).ConclusionsThe expression of GRIM-19in duodenum carcinoma was lower than controltissue, but the expression of STAT3in duodenum carcinoma was higher thancontrol tissue. The low expression of GRIM-19and the high expression ofSTAT3co-exist in duodenum carcinoma tissues. Helicobacter pylori infectionmay play an important role in the development of duodenal gastritis and ulcer. |
