Thallus Laminariae is the kelp family, also called Jiang cabagge. It is a traditional Chinese medicine with the efficacy of eliminating Phlegm and softening solid, facilitating drainage of clever and diuresis, relieving cough and asthma, clearing fat and decreasing blood pressure, dispelling congestion and anticancer. Modern research found that kelp could be used in regulating blood lipids, lowing blood pressure and hypoglycemic, anticoagulant, anti-tumor and mutation, and strengthening the immune system. The main chemical compositions are laminarin, mannitol, dietary fiber and Iodine.Four main chemical composition extraction of kelp was studied in this paper, and also included the comparison of content differences in different seas and parts. At last, the the antioxidant activity and the antibacterial activity of the laminarin in different seas and parts were tested. Those researches would provide some references for its comprehensive development and utilization, the main conclusions as following:1. The four main active constituents(laminarin, mannitol, dietary fiber and Iodine) of kelp in different seas(East China Sea, Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea) were tested and compared the content differences. It concluded that four main active constituents content of kelp in East China Sea is higher than the content in other seas. Such as laminarin content is10.37%, mannitol content is2.11%,dietary fiber content is69.9%, and Iodine content is0.28%.2. The four main active constituents of kelp in different parts(leaf and root) were also tested and compared the content differences. It concluded that there were three active constituents(laminarin. Mannitol, loldine) content in leaves is higher than content in root. But the dietary fiber content in leaves is lower than the content in roots.3. The antioxidant activity of the laminarin in different seas and parts was compared and evaluated systematically, the results show that there are not a good antioxigant ability in vitro, and the Vc standard has a better effects than DPPH radical, and in eliminating superoxide anion, the reduction and hydroxyl radical. The laminarin in leaf has the better effects than DPPH radical, and in eliminating superoxide, the reduction and hydroxyl radical.4. The antibacterial activity of the laminarin in different seas and parts was compared and show some function. The concentration of the laminarin in East China Seas, Yellow Seas and Bohai Seas in antibacterial to colon bacillus are6.25mg/ml,12.5mg/ml,12.5mg/ml, to staphylococcus are12.5mg/ml,25mg/ml,12.5mg/ml, to salmonella are6.25mg/ml,12.5mg/ml, 25mg/ml.The innovative points lie in the following:comparing the four main active constituents content of kelp in different seas and parts for the first time; firstly comparing the antioxidant activity and the antibacterial activity of the laminarin in different seas and parts, laid a solid foundation for further development and utilization of kelp.
