Chemical components and pharmacological activities of Ramalina conduplicans have beenstudied in this paper.The dissertation of crude fibre, crude fat, protein, ash and Fe、Zn、Se、As、Cd、Pb、Hg ofRamalina conduplicans were tested. The content of crude fibreis6.21%, The content of crude fat is0.12%, protein is7.3%, ash is2.7%, Fe is850mg/Kg, Se is0.433mg/Kg, Zn is24mg/Kg, Hg is0.058mg/Kg,Pb is0.91mg/Kg, Cd is0.705mg/Kg, As is2.45mg/Kg.The powder of Ramalina conduplicans thallus were extracted by petroleum ether(30-60),dichloromethane and ethyl acetate. Six compounds were isolated and identified, they were usnicacid (1), atranorin (2), barbatic acid (3), evernic acid (4), diffractaic acid (5),isouronicacid(6),murotic acid(7),lichesterinic acid(8),neuropogolic acid(9),18R-Hydroxydihydroalloprotolichensterinic acid(10)and salazinic acid (11). They were all for thefirst time found from Ramalina conduplicans.The anti-tumor activities of usnic acid, evernic acid, barbatic acid and salazinic acid thatextracted from thallus of Ramalina conduplicans were studied. The anti-tumor rate, and thymus andspleen indexes were calculated and the content of serum IL-2were detected. The results showedthat usnic acid [20mg/(kg·d),10mg/(kg·d)], evernic acid [20mg/(kg·d),10mg/(kg·d)], barbatic acid[5mg/(kg·d)], and salazinic acid [20mg/(kg·d)] had obviously inhibitory effect on the tumor in H22mice. The anti-tumor rate of these compounds were obviously higher than that of negative control(P<0.01). These four compounds can influence thymus and spleen indexes and the content of serumIL-2in treated H22mice was significantly higher than that of negative and control(P<0.01).The antibacterial activities of usnic acid, evernic acid, barbatic acid and salazinic acid thatextracted from thallus of Ramalina conduplicans were studied.The results showed that salazinicacid have obvious inhibition effects on Escherichia coli, but have no effects on Bacillus subtilis.Usnic acid and barbatic acid nearly have no effects on Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis. Highconcentration of evernic acid have obvious inhibition effects on Escherichia coli and Bacillussubtilis. Salazinic acid and evernic acid have obvious inhibition effects on three plant pathogens,barbatic acid have obvious inhibition effects on Botrytis cinerea, but usnic acid nearly have noeffects on plant pathogens.The antioxidant activity of usnic acid, atranorin, barbatic acid, evernic acid, diffractaicacid,salazinic acid were assessed based on the ability to scavenge DPPH and ABTS free radicals invitro. The result showed that there was a dosage-dependent effect between DPPH·removal effectand mass concentration of salazinic acid in the test concentration range. In110μmol/L, the clearance rate of salazinic acid is57.05%. In27.5–110μmol/L, there was a dosage-dependent effectbetween DPPH·removal effect and mass concentration of atranorin, barbatic acid and evernic acid.DPPH·removal ability of usnic acid is better. There was a dosage-dependent effect between ABTS·+radical scavenging effect and mass concentration of diffractaic acid, salazinic acid and barbatic acid.When the concentration is55μmol/L, ABTS·+free radical clearance rate of diffractaic acid is50.79%, that of salazinic acid is44.53%, and that of barbatic acid is44.34%. In13.75–55μmol/L,there was a dosage-dependent effect between ABTS·+free radical clearance rate and massconcentration of atranorin. There are benzofuranone, depsides and its derivatives in Ramalinaconduplicans, so the lichen can be developed an important source of potential antioxidants.
