Clinical Research Of Wenyang Tiaojing Decoction Of Curing Hypomenorrhea Of Kidney-yang Deficiency

Objective To study the clinical effect of Wenyang Tiaojing decoction of curing hypomenorrhea of kidney-yang deficiency, to provide evidence for clinical application.Materials and Methods The research, proceeding on the Gynaecology and Obstetrics department of the first affiliated hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has employed a randomized, positive parallel control method, from January2,2012to August1,2012.60cases of hypomenorrhea of kidney-yang deficiency, which had no significant difference on age, duration and illness degree, were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group. The treatment group took Wenyang Tiaojing decoction whereas the control group used Guishen pill; both of the two groups started on the first day of their menses (menstrual cramps), consecutively12days and3months for a course. Observing and recording the clinical symptoms, menstrual capacity, changes of endometrial thickness, adverse effect and security data of the two groups before and after the treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was93.33%with4cases cured,18cases had obvious effect,6cases valid and2cases with no effect; whereas the total effective rate of the control group was83.33%, with2cases cured,11cases had obvious effect,12cases valid and5cases with no effect. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Before the treatment, no significant difference was found between the two groups on the comparison of clinical symptoms, menstrual capacity and endometrial thickness (P>0.05), which was comparable. The difference between the two groups before and after the treatment on the comparison of clinical symptoms, menstrual capacity and endometrial thickness was statistically significant (P<0.05), indicating that both of the methods can increase endometrial thickness, menstrual capacity and improve the clinical symptoms. There was no significant difference between the two groups after treatment on endometrial thickness(P>0.05), but significant difference on menstrual capacity and clinical symptoms(P<0.05), which indicated that the treatment group was superior to the control group on increasing menstrual capacity and improving the clinical symptoms, but there was no difference on increasing endometrial thickness.Conclusion Both groups can achieve their medical goals by increasing menstrual blood volume, endometrial thickness and improving clinical symptoms score. The treatment group treated by Wen yang tiao jing decoction was superior to the control group treat by guishen pill on increasing menstrual blood volume and improving the clinical symptoms score, but their effect had no difference on increasing endometrial thickness.
