Objective:Through the retrospective study of clinical nursing tort cases, to figure out the characteristics and reasons of nursing tort behavior, to put forward the counter-measures of prevention, for clinical nursing staff and managers.Methods:This study used content analysis to describe nursing tort cases, using X2test to figure out their characteristics, and using case study method to analyse and summary their causes.Results:Nursing tort cases have5features:Firstly, the number of nursing tort cases are increasing, and different levels of medical institutions have no significant difference in number (P>0.05). Secondly, the young men, the middle-aged women and the local patients are easier be torted. Thirdly, there are many types of tort cases, they can cause different degree damage to patients, but the extent of the damage and the departments has no obvious relationship (P>0.05). Fourthly, the proportion of nursing tort in surgical is highest(38.03%), and many are caused by the defect of technical operation; the proportion of obstetrics and gynecology that caused by non-technical reasons is the highest. Fifthly, nursing tort cases usually solve effective, and intervention as the main solution.Nursing tort causes include two factors seven reasons:Nursing staff factor:legal consciousness, professional behavior was not standardized, nurse-patient communication problems, responsibility heart is not strong, lack of technical level; Management factors:lack of human resource allocation and arrangement is not reasonable, management system is not perfect.Conclusions:Prevention of nursing tort is very important and urgent, it needs nursing staff and managers combine their own factors to do their best, needs their mutual cooperation, and make joint efforts to prevent the occurrence of tort.
