Objective1. To study the existence of gene polymorphism in MCP-1-2518A/G and theassociation of MCP-1-2518A/G gene polymorphism and acute myocardialinfarction (AMI) in Chinese Han population of Liaoxi region.2. Study the relationship between MCP-1levels and AMI in the Han ofWestern Liaoning.Methods150unrelated patients with myocardial infarction in Department ofCardiology and159healthy controls were recruited between September2010and June2011.MCP-1genotype was detected by polymerase chainreaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP); The level ofMCP-1was determined both in patients with AMI and healthy groups by ELISA.Biochemical technology was used to measure the serum lipid levels.Results1. MCP-1-2518A/G gene polymorphism exists in Chinese Han populationof Liaoxi region.In the control groups, the genotype frequency of AA, AG, GGwere57.9%、31.4%、10.7%,2. There was a significant difference of genotype distribution between AA,AG, GG and f A, G allele(P<0.01). The relative risk suffered from AMI of the people with GG genotype was2.361times of the people with AA genotype; Therelative risk suffered from AMI of the people with G allele was1.831times of thepeople with A allele.3. There is no significant difference in the levels of TC, TG and HDL-Cbetween healthy and control groups(P>0.05).4. There is a significant difference of the MCP-1level in healthy, controlgroups and all kinds of genotypes.Conclusions1. The MCP-1-2518A/G gene polymorphism is associated withpathogenesis of AMI, and G allele may be a genetic risk fator of AMI.2. The MCP-1-2518A/G gene polymorphism has an influence on AMI. But itdoes not affect the level of blood lipids.3. There is a relationship between the level of MCP-1and AMI. MCP-1level may be one of the causes of the AMI.4. The MCP-1-2518A/G gene polymorphism can influence the level ofMCP-1. MCP-1levels in AA, AG and GG genotypes increased successively.The G allele may be a reason of MCP-1levels increased.
