Artesunate On Proliferation In Human Ovarian Cancer HO8910Cell Line And Bcl-2, Bax Gene Expression

ObjectiveTo investigate the anti-tumor effect of Artesunate on human ovariancancer in vitro,effects of artesunate on proliferation and apoptosis of humanovarian cancer cell HO8910were observed.MethodsThe effect of artesunate on proliferation of HO8910cells were observedby MTT asssy.Detection of apoptosis and cell cycle analysis were performedwith flow cytometry. The expressions of Bcl-2,and Bax were analyzed byWestern blot.ResultsArtesunate inhibits the proliferation of HO8910cells in dosage and timedependent manner and induce apoptosis. The cell cycle was arrested inG0/G１phase in HO8910cells treated with artesunate. Western blot showedthat the expression of Bcl-2decrease and Bax increase in HO8910cellstreated with artesunate.ConclusionArtesunate inhibits the proliferation of HO8910in the dose and timedependent manner, and induces apoptosis. The anti-tumor effect of artesunate may be due to down-regulating the expressions of Bcl-2and up-regulating Bax.
