ObjectiveThe purpose of this paper was to evaluate the reslut of using low intensitypulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) on the Fricton′s index in patients withtemporomandibular joint synovitis.Methods55patients with temporomandibular joint synovitis were randomized intotwo groups: LIPUS treatment and control groups. Curative effects wereobserved using Fricton index.ResultsAfter treatment, the symptoms of TMJ pain were relieved in two groups.The effects of LIPUS were better than the control treatment. The significantdifference about Fricton index was observed.ConclusionsLIPUS therapy was a reliable clinical therapy for temporomandibular jointsynovitis, relieving pain and improving function of TMJ. |
