Background With the social and medical development in China, the content of nurses’work has become more specialized and specific. However, the use of human resources of nurses and its management still have the room for improvement. Since specifications of the nurses are different, it should also be different in use of nurses by a corresponding ability to use hierarchical. Nurses should have different tasks based on their different levels of capility. This is the important issues in nursing professional development.Objective To investigate the job satisfaction and its influencing factors,attitude towards the human resources management and nurses hierarchical management of operating room nurses, to built hierarchical management for the operating room nurse and provide the basis for the operating room nursing human resources management.Methods1.A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect information of the job satisfaction and explore its influencing factors. The questionnaire is divided into two parts:general information included operating room nurses’ personal characteristics (age, gender, education, marital status, monthly salary income), occupational characteristics (work experience, job title), human resource management (whether or not to join a professional group, to accept the flexibility scheduling, the average working time of different daily, the head-nurses arrange surgical operation whether pay attention to consider the nurse working ability). The job satisfaction scale which designed by Warr contains15items, job satisfaction is reflected by work status and work relationships. To test the questionnaire reliability and validity prior to use. This study distributed210questionnaires and recovered210, excluding six invalid questionnaires. The efficiency is97.14%. The results were dealt with by statistical software SPSS17.0, including the t-test, ANOVA analysis, and multiples linear stepwise regression analysis.2.Depth interview was conducted with12operating room nurses,the semi-structured interview consists of the attitude of human resource management and the cognitive and recommendations of nurses.Results1. Job satisfaction of operating room nurse is not high, the overall level of personal and professional characteristics of nurses in the satisfaction score and two scores difference were statistically significant (P<0.01). Female nurses scored higher than male nurses; The score of nurse who were26~45years old, charge nurse and worked6~20years lower than other nurses; Married nurses, college educated nurses score higher than other nurses. Title, education, monthly income were important impacts.2. Different human resource management of the total score and two dimensions score difference were statistically significant (P<0.01). Join a professional group, to accept flexible scheduling, leadership focus on the ability, the average daily working time8h of operating room nurses score were higher than other nurses.3.The evalution of operating room nurse for the current management is general, could be improved. Nurses think that hierarchical management should be supported by theory and data, and the capability, job title, education, age and other factors should be considered. The nurses look forward to the hierarchical management could improve professional accomplishment, salary distribution and quality of life.4.According to the results of the quantitative and qualitative research, initially build the hierarchical management model of operating room nurses.Conclusions1Job satisfaction of the operating room nurse is not high, The title, education monthly income are the main influencing factors.2The hierarchical management model of operating room nurses should according to the titles, academic qualifications, ability, and the work experience.
