Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the treatment of fracture of surgical neck of humerus by applying the minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) combined with Shangzhi guzhe yihao tang.Methods:Patients with fracture of surgical neck of humerus admitted from July2010to July2011were randomly divided into the observational group(30cases) and the control group(30cases). Patients in observational group received the minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis combined with Shangzhi guzhe yihao tang, while patients in control group received the minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis only, both groups were instructed early and physical therapy after-operation. Two groups were compared according to pain, Active activity ability, range of motion, anatomical position, active load weight time, postoperative length of stay, postoperative VAS pain score, fracture healing.Results:All cases were followed up for2~12months(average6month) after operation. There was no complications of infection, vascular nerve damage, fixator loose shift or break. There were statistically significant differences in pain, active activity ability, range of motion, active load weight time, postoperative length of stay, postoperative3days VAS pain score, and fracture healing.(P<0.05); and the difference was not significant in anatomical position and postoperative3months VAS pain score(P>0.05).Conclusions:Applying the minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis combined with Shangzhi guzhe yihao tang treat fracture of surgical neck of humerus, which has the advantage of improving blood cycle of fracture, relieving the pain, quicker functional recovery, less postoperative complications, safe and reliable.
