Objective: This study was designed to examine the chemical composition andantioxidant activity of Uygur medicine Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam., to further expandthe pharmacology effect of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. and to establish firm fundamentof reasonable developing and utilizing to Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. in Xingjiang.Methods: According to the2010version of Pharmacopoeia, identification of the originalplant of ziziphora clinopodioides lam, and describe their properties; It’s stems, leaves andpowder for microscopic identification, it’s water extract and alcohol extract of the physicaland chemical identification and in contrast to linarin, caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid onTLC. The7batches of ziziphora clinopodioides lam of moisture and ash were determined.The use of GC/MS techniques to analyze four different origins Ziziphora clinopodioidesLam essential oil chemical composition, applied the method of liquid chromatogram todetermine contents of pulegone, caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, diosmin, Linarin inZiziphora clinopodioides Lam. from ten different origins of production in Xinjiang, andstudy on fingerprint of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. Results: Check in formulatingmoisture was less than9%. Total ashes were less than12%. Acid-insoluble ashes were lessthan4%.9-20compounds identified from the essential oil, the contents of pulegone,caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, diosmin, Linarin in Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. from tendifferent origins of production in Xinjiangare obvious differences. The determination ofthe acquisition of ten different origins of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam, calibration of the11common peaks, and the establishment of the Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam fingerprintchromatogram.Conclusion: this project conducted a preliminary study for Xinjiang originZiziphora clinopodioides Lam quality standards. The study determined contents ofpulegone, caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, diosmin, Linarin in Ziziphora clinopodioides Lamfrom ten different places of production in XinJiang, lay the foundation for the lip herbs toestablish the standards of scientific quality. meanwhile, firstly conducted a fingerprinting studies to Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. It offered scientific evidences for establishingscientific quality standard of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam.
