Objective:According to the analysis of chemical composition and the study of antioxidant activity to the volatile oil of the Uygur herb Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam, establish the mechanism of action initially, which the volatile oil of the Uygur herb Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam restrain the growth of Streptococcus mutans. Method: Through the comprehensive analysis to the GC-MS and relative remaining index to confirm chemical composition of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam volatile oil, the analysis of Atomic absorption confirm contents of the common trace element in Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. Through experiments of eliminate DPPH, hydroxy free radical, superoxide anion and hepatocuprein, the contradict oxidation activity of volatile oil have validated. Through the experiment of restraining Streptococcus mutans' growth, investigated the activity of bacteriostasis to volatile oil. Base on the technology of bioluminescence and special reported strain BB170, explored the mechanism of action of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam volatile oil effect the Streptococcus mutans initially. Results:Confirmed 37 kinds of chemical composition initially from the volatile oil of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam, mensurated 10 kinds of trace element content in Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam, proved the volatile oil of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam have the certain contradict oxidation activity and the action of restraining the growth of Streptococcus mutans. Conclusion:Volatile oil of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam have the contradict oxidation activity and the action of restraining the growth of Streptococcus mutans, and the mechanism of action also need to be studied deeply.
