Objective: To compare the restoration method of bone graft in combination withsplint-like PFM bridge treatment and splint-like PFM bridge treatment alone on curingperiodontal disease patients with periodontal bone defects, and giving an estimate for thechanges of IL-1β levels in patients’GCF. Methods:The20patients who`s loosened disalabutment teeth with periodontal bone defects were selected, and divided them into bonegraft group and non-bone graft group. In the bone graft group,10patients’ loosened distalteeth were given bone graft in combination with splint-like PFM bridge treatments. Whilethe other10patients’ loosened distal teeth were treated by splint-like PFM bridge only. Allthe patients were followed up by6to12months, periodontal clinical index(PD、CAL)and content of IL-1β in patients’ GCF were measured, X-ray were taken before surgery, analyzed the changes, meanwhile marked the results. Results:(1)After6month, all thepatients’ IL-1β levels have decreased. Statistical difference was been found in two groupsbetween0/3/6month(P<0.05), comparing with the bone graft group and the non-bonegraft group, the effect of bone graft group was better than another group(P<0.05).(2)ThePD, CAL value (the basic treatment was completed) between bone graft group and thenon-bone graft group had no statistical difference (P>0.05),their periodontal baselinewere comparable. Comparing with PD and CAL from0to6month in bone graftgroup, statistical difference was found (P<0.05),however,the various periodontal indexin non-bone graft group had no statistical difference in the period of0、3、6month (P>0.05).The average bone loss was not found in two groups. Partially bone reconstructionwas found in all the loosened disal teeth in the bone graft group after6months.Conclusion:(1)The bone graft group in combination with splint-like PFM bridgetreatments is better than the other group, the periodontal disease patients with periodontalbone defects can receive better treatment effect on maintaining and promoting periodontalhealth.(2)Comparing the clinical results of the bone graft group and the non-bone graftgroup, bone graft in combination with splint-like PFM bridge is effective and beneficial toperiodontal tissue reconstruction with periodontal bone defects.
