Objectives:To describe the levels of time management disposition,self-esteem and academic procrastination among nursing professional students;to clarify the differences of time management disposition,self-esteem and academic procrastination in the general demographic characteristics;to explore the relationship between time management disposition,self-esteem and academic procrastination;to clarify main reasons of academic procrastination among nursing professional students.Methods:A total of600nursing students were selected to investigate by using convenience sampling method from two universities,in Jilin Province.Research instruments were composed of general demographic characteristics, Adolescenc Time Management Disposition Inventory,The Self-Esteem Scale and Procrastination Assessment Scale-Students.The data collected was analysed by SPSS17.0.Results:(1)The total score of nursing students’time management disposition was154.74±18.93,there were significance differences among different education levels, learning liberal arts or science in high school, different family types of education and different levels of satisfaction of the professional.(2)The total score of nursing students’self-esteem was29.25±3.65, there were significant differences among different student residences,whether the only-child, different father’s education levels, different mother’s education levels and different levels of satisfaction of the professional.(3) The total score of nursing students’academic procrastination was52.44±11.27, there were significance differences among different grades, education levels, father’s education levels and levels of satisfaction of the professional.(4) The relationship between time management disposition and academic procrastination was significantly negative correlation. The relationship between time management disposition and self-esteem was significantly positive correlation. The relationship between self-esteem and academic procrastination was significantly negative correlation.(5)The main factors were aversiveness of the task and laziness,fear of success and fear of failure by factor analysis of academic procrastination reasons.Conclusions:nursing students’time management disposition was in the middle level. Education levels, learning liberal arts or science in high school, family types of education and levels of satisfaction of the professional were associated with time management disposition, nursing students’self-esteem was in the middle level. Student residences,whether the only-child, father’s education levels,mother’s education levels and levels of satisfaction of the professional were associated with self-esteem, nursing students’academic procrastination was in the middle and lower level. Grades, education levels, father’s education levels and levels of satisfaction of the professional were associated with academic procrastination.The relationship between time management disposition,self-esteem and academic procrastination was significant correlation.The main factors of academic procrastination were aversiveness of the task and laziness,fear of success and fear of failure.
