A Survey Of The Metal Health Of Young Doctors In The Positive Psychology Perspective

ObjectiveTo investigate the mental health、 positive psychological status and relevant influence factors of young doctors who work in the comprehensive hospital of XiangYa system, to explore the relationship between the mental health and the positive psychological status of the young doctors.MethodsThe young doctors who work in the three comprehensive hospital of XiangYa system have been investigated by questionnaire survey. Questionnaires including:General Health Questionnaire, Satisfaction With Life Scale, The Meaning in Life Questionnaire, Gratitude Questionnaire6, The Heartland Forgiveness Scale, and Psychological Capital Questionnaire.ResultsThere were535volunteers who accepted the investigations and filled in the questionairs,501were retrieved, of which493effictive records, the effective retrieve-ratio:98.40%.The results showed:l、 Overall, about25.15percent of the young doctors had mental problems, while the satisfaction with life、 the meaning of life、 gratitude、 forgiveness、 and the psychological capital of the young doctors scoring in above the average level.2、 There were differences in the scores of different gender, age, marital status, education, professional title, working time and the department:(1) No significant differences were found in the scores of mental health between male and female doctors; female doctors score higher in satisfaction with life、 forgive others and forgive situations (p<0.05), while male doctors score higher in resilience (p<0.05);(2)Married doctors score higher than unmarried doctors in mental health、 life satisfaction、 the presence of meaning in life、 forgiveness, psychological capital (p<0.05).(3)Master graduate student scored lower than Ph.D. Students in the scores of all questionnaires (p<0.05).(4)No significant differences were found in the scores of mental health among all the departments; Physicians score higher in the satisfaction with life、 the presence of meaning in life、 forgiveness and psychological capital,while surgeons score low(p<0.05). Oncology doctors score higher in Gratitude, and score lower in resilience (p<0.05).(5) With the growth of the age、 extension of working time and the promotion of professional title,there was a gradually increasing trend of the scores in the mental health、 life satisfaction、 the presence of meaning in life、 forgiveness and psychological capital, and a decreasing in search for meaning in life and gratitude.3、 There were significantly negative correlation between the score of the life satisfaction、 the meaning in life、 gratitude、 forgiveness、psychological capital Questionnaire and the mental health (p<0.01). There were positive correlation among all the positive psychological factors(most of the p<0.01).4、The multivariate stepwise regression analysis of mental health showed that:there were linear regression relations which were negative related (p<0.01), among the life satisfaction、 forgiving others、 the presence of meaning in life、 forgiving oneself、 self-efficacy、 gratitude and mental health of the young doctors.Conclusion1.The mental health of young doctors who work in the three comprehensive hospital of XiangYa system in hunan province was poor. While the satisfaction with life、 the meaning of life、 gratitude、 forgiveness and the psychological capital were in above the average level;2. The young doctors in different gender, age, marital status, education background, professional title, working hours and the department had differences in the mental health and positive psychological status. The major features shows as below:(1) There was no significant differences in the mental health of male and female doctors; female doctors had higher life satisfaction、 forgive others and forgive situations, while male doctors had stronger resilience.(2) Married doctors had better mental health and positive psychological status than unmarried doctors.(3) Master graduate student had poorer mental health and positive psychological status than Ph.D. Students.(4) There were no significant differences in the mental health among all the departments; Physicians had better positive psychological status,while surgeons was poor. Oncology doctors had higher gratitude, and lower resilience.(5) With the growth of the age、 extension of working time and the promotion of professional title,there was a gradually rising and enhanced trend of the mental health、 life satisfaction、 the presence of meaning in life、 forgiveness and psychological capital of the young doctors, and a declining trend in the search for meaning of life and gratitude.3.The satisfaction with life、 the meaning of life, gratitude, forgiveness, the psychological capital and the mental health had a significantly positive correlation with each other. life satisfaction、 forgiving others、 the presence of meaning in life、 forgiving oneself、 self-efficacy、 gratitude were the main factors affecting the mental health,and can Predict the mental health in a certain extent. All the positive psychological factors and mental health had impact on each other and can promoted each other.
