Bidens is a species of the genus Bidens (Compositae).It is widely distributed and abundant resources in majority province in China.Bidens had been traditional used for many years.There are five species and two variant are found in Shandong Province. the contents of Bidens are influenced by different species and different places.in order to regulate the use of Bidens, develop a new use of Bidens, the quality standard of Bidens has been studied in this paper,We made a comprehensive investigation and study. we have the Shandong Bidens on a preliminary study,This experiment will establish the methods of quality estimate of Bidens,from Herbal textual research, microscopic identification, content determination,analysis of the chemical compositions,HPLC fingerprint, ant oxidation and so on several aspects of Bidens continue to study.Textual research of botanical knowledge was on appellation evolution, phytogenic source and so on; observe the microscopic characters of the leaves and stems of Bidens; according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia2010edition and the local standards, we did the following examinations of grown in different places of Bidens in Shandong province, moisture, total tash, acid insoluble ash and ethanol-soluble extract.the experiment have chosen UV to analysis total falconoid for the different producing areas,harvesting times and processing methods. Establish a method for determination of amino acids concentration in Bidens by HPLC. Set up the fingerprinting of species of Bidens by HPLC. To explore the ant oxidation of Bidens in vitro. In addition, we did preliminary studies on Bidens pilosa L.var.radiata Sch.-Bip.The results indicate that microscopic identification, amino acids were different between different varieties of Bidens. The amount of flavones in different locations, different harvest times and in different processing methods had significant difference. moisture, total tash, acid insoluble ash and ethanol-soluble extract of different areas have significant differences. HPLC fingerprint of Bidens was established. Bidens is a good antioxidant, Analysis showed that Bidens pilosa L.var.radiata Sch.-Bip were more worthy of further development and utilization.
