Study On Quality And Fingerprint Of Galium Verum L.

Galium verum L. belongs to the family of Rubiaceae. With the function of reducing away heat and toxic material, promoting blood circulation, damp elimination and relieving itching, it is broadly used for years especially in curing lower limb phlebitis with marked curative effect.In this paper, the method for evaluating the quality of Galium verum L. has been established. First, we observed the microscopic characteristics of Galium verum L. and established the standard of pharmacognosy identification. Second, the comparison of total Flavonoids content has been measured among the samples from 10 different places. As results, the range of content of total Flavonoids is from 6.25% to 12.08%, and the content of the sample from Harbin is the highest. In addition, we also examined the contents that Medical dictionary has prescribed.A method of HPLC-FP of Galium verum L. was established. By studying comparatively the fingerprints of 10 samples from various sources, 19 peaks have been identified as the general peaks. Among these peaks, the peak of Diosmin is taken as the standard one, and the relative retention time and relative peak area of the others are defined as parameters evaluating the quality. Three sections were set up to identify the characteristic of fingerprint.The method can be used to identify and evaluate the quality of Galium verum L.
