Objective:To discuss the effect of clinical and daily living ability on mild cognitive impairment (MCI) after stroke treated with cord-supplementing and brain-strengthening acupuncture.Methods:60cases of MCI after stroke were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group. Both groups were given regular treatment of neurological department according to "China guideline for cere brovascular disease prevention and treatment". Control group were given Intermediates of Donepezil HCl0.25mg once daily after meal; treatment group were given cord-supplementing and brain-strengthening acupuncture additionally based on control group. Point selection:Baihui, Sishencong, Fengchi, Shenmen, Sanyinjiao, Taixi and Xuanzhong and2months as one therapeutic course.Results:Total effective rate was86.7%in treatment group while63.3%in control group with significant differences (P<0.05). MMSE, MoCA and Barthel index in both groups were markedly improved with significant differences before and after treatment (P<0.05or P<0.01). There were significant differences on MMSE, MoCA and Barthel index between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion:Cord-supplementing and brain-strengthening acupuncture can improve cognitive and neurological functions to help improving daily living abilities of MCI after stroke. The therapy is proved to be effective in clinical.
