Objectives: To summarize the clinical experience and lessons onendobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration(EBUS-TBNA), providing a reference to optimize the diagnosis formediastinal lymphadenopathy. Methods: Three patients with mediastinal lymph nodesenlargement found by chest CT underwent the dignosis by EBUS-TBNAfrom December23,2011to January6,2012. The clinical information of thepatients was described and relevant literatures were reviewed. Results: Both cytological and histopathological specimens wereobtained in the three cases whose dognosis with the bronchoscopy isnegative. The results were small cell lung cancer, highly suspicious forcancer, and lung squamous cell carcinoma Respectively. The diagnosisand regimens were changed in two cases of them. Conclusions: As a safe and effective procedure, endobronchialultrasound-guided transbronchial needle biopsy (EBUS-TBNA) plays animportant role in pathological verification and histopathologicalclassification for mediastinal lymphadenopathy, and has a wideapplication prospect in future.
