Objective:To investigate the association between the paraoxonase1Q192Rgene polymorphism and type2diabetes with periodontal disease in Han nationality inJiangxi Chinese population.Method:PCR and direct DNA sequencing technology were used to establish thegenotype of PON1Q192R polymorphism in Han nationality in Jiangxi Chinesepopulation, which included64controls (N group),61patients with diabetes (DMgroup) and64diabetes mellitus patients with periodontal disease (DM+P group).Analysis PON1Q192R polymorphism frequency distribution characteristics in Hannationality in Jiangxi Chinese population and risk factors of diabetes and diabeticpatients with periodontal disease. The frequencies comparison of genotype and allelebetween each group were calculated by direct counting method and2test,therelative risk were calculated by binary logistic regression analysis.Result:(1)Compairson of clinical data among the three groups: The averageage levels in DM group and DM+P were significantly higher than Ngroup.BMI,TCh,TG,FPG,HbA1c and SBP of DM group were higher than N group, while the average level of HDL was lower than N group; TCH,TG,FPG,HbA1c andSBP of DM+P group were higher than N group, while the average level of HDL waslower than N group(P<0.05).The average age of DM+P group was higher than DMgroup7-year-old,SBP and smoking rates was higher than DM group(P<0.05).(2) Comparison of clinical data among the different gender in three groups: InN group, TG and smoking rates of female were lower than the male. The average ofHDL of female was higher than the male and the smoking rate of female was lowerthan the male in DM group. The average of BMI and HbA1c of female was lowerthan the male in DM+P group(P<0.05).(3)Pair wise comparison among the three groups, PON1Q192R genepolymorphism genotype and allele frequencies were no significant statistical signify-cance. (4)In the Logistic regression analysis of N group and DM group, the ORvalues of Age, TG, TCH and SBP were more than1,suggested that were the studyobject independent risk factors for diabetes. In the Logistic regression analysis of DMgroup and DM+P group, the OR values of Age and SBP were more than1and the ORvalue of BMI was less than1,suggested Age and SBP were the study objectindependent risk factors and BMI was a protective factor for diabetes withperiodontitis.(Inclusion criteria was α=0.05,and exclusion criteria was α=0.1)Conclusion:(1) In the presence of other factors, PON1Q192Rgenepolymorphisms can not be used as an independent risk factor in diabetes and diabetescombined with periodontal disease in Jiangxi Chinese Han population.(2)High age, high TG, high SBP were independent risk factors for the study ofdiabetes; high age, high SBP were independent risk factors for the study of diabeticpatients with periodontal disease, while BMI was a protective factor.
