Objection:To detect the level of serum IL-23、laboratory datas and clinical datas (including Hemoglobin、WBC、Erythrocyte sedimentation rate、 Cr、IgG、Complement3and4、Erythra、Fever、Arthritis、C reactive protein and so on) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), then to explore the the level of serum IL-23、 and the mechanism of action、clinical significance of serum IL-23in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Methods:Twenty one cases SLE patients were recruited. According to the SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) score、or renal involvement, the patients were divided into different groups:ten cases patients with nephritis, eleven cases patients without nephritis; ten cases patients with active SLE (SLEDAI≥10) and eleven cases patients with inactive SLE (SLEDAI<10). Twenty healthy volunteers were selected as normal controls. Measuring the level of serum IL-23in twenty one cases SLE patients and twenty healthy volunteers were measured by Enzyme linked immunosorbent essay(ELISA). And measuring labarotary datas in twenty one cases SLE patients, then clinical data of the SLE patients were collected. The results are analyzed by SPSS11.5statistic software.Results:1.There is significant differences were found among active SLE group、 inactive SLE group and normal controls in analyzing the level of serum IL-23(P<0.05)。 The results of serum IL-23in patients with active SLE were significantly increased, and there showed statistic differences between patients with inactive SLE and normal controls (P<0.05), and the active group are higher than that of inactive group (P<0.05)2. The concentration of serum IL-23in SLE patients were positively correlated with SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) scores (r=0.844, p<0.05).3. The level of serum IL-23in patients with or without nephritis were both higher than that of normal control group (P<0.05). But no obvious differences wer e observed for serum IL-23between the patients with nephritis and patients without nephritis (P>0.05)4. The level of serum IL-23had significant positive correlations with erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)、C reactive protein (CRP) respectively (P <0.05); and the concentration of serum IL-23were negatively correlated with Hb (P<0.05), and there were no correlations between the concentration of serum IL-23and other clinical datas (including fever、rash、sex、age、 C3、C4、albumin、globulin、IgG、arthritis、serum creatinine、WBC、platelet count).Conclusion:1. The concentration of serum IL-23in SLE patients is significantly increased, Clue to that serum IL-23may participate the pathogenesis of SLE;2. The level of IL-23in active group patients is significantly higer than inactive groups, and the concentration of serum IL-23in SLE patients were positively correlated with SLE disease activity index, clue to that the serum IL-23may have close relationship with activity SLE, and the serum IL-23may become the new index which is reflect the activity of SLE;3. The concentration of serum IL-23are not influence by SLE patients with or without nephritis.
