【Objective】 The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of auricular acupressure to sleep regulation in type2diabetic patients with insomnia, probing into the relationship between sleep and glucose regulation, and to consider the influence of auricular acupressure to glycolipid, then to provide auricular acupressure clinic study with the theoretical principle.【Methods】The design is a randomized controlled trial.90out-patients with type2diabetes and insomnia coming from the endocirne department of Jiangsu Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) are divided into three groups, namely test1group, test2group, and estazolam group. All the90cases are kept the routine diabetes treatment. The therapeutic to the test1group and test2group patients is stmulating auris-points by adhibitting pressing manipulation with small nut seeds, and to the estazalam group is giving estazolam1-2mg before bedtime. The main auris-points are Shenmen, Xin, Shen, Pizhixia. To test2group’patients,the combination of disease and syndrome differentiation is needed on the basis of test1group. The observation period is12weeks. Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), hemoglobin Alc (HbAlc), serum triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol (TCH) are observed before and after4weeks,8weeks and12weeks later.[Results] Baes data: There is no correlation of gender, age, duration of diabetes, diabetes complicaions number, Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale (PSQI), depression self rating scale (SDS), anxiety from rating scale (SAS), cholesterol (TC), triglycerides(TG), body mass index (BMI) among three groups. PSQI:From4th week post-treatment, PSQI is significantly reduced in three groups compared with pre-treatment (P<0.05、P<0.01、P<0.01),there has no difference among three group(P>0.05) at4,8,12weeks. SDS:From4th week post-treatment, SDS is significantly reduced in three groups compared with pre-treatment (P<0.01、P<0.01、P <0.01). There has no difference among three group(P>0.05) at4weeks. SDS is significantly reduced in test1group, test2group, than in estazolam group at8,12weeks (P<0.01、P<0.01). SAS:From4th week post-treatment, SDS is significantly reduced in three groups compared with pre-treatment (P<0.05、P<0.05、P<0.05). There has no difference among three group(P>0.05) at4weeks. SAS is significantly reduced in test1group, test2group, than in estazolam group at8,12weeks (P<0.01、P<0.01). HbAlc:At12weeks, HbAlc is significantly reduced in three groups compared with pre-treatment (P<0.01、P<0.01、P<0.01). HbAlc is significantly reduced in test2group, than in test1group and estazolam group at12weeks. There has no difference between testl group and estazolam group at12weeks (P>0.05). TC: From4th week post-treatment, TC is significantly reduced in three groups compared with pre-treatment (P<0.05、 P<0.01、 P<0.05). TC is significantly reduced in test2group, than in test1group and estazolam group at4,8,12weeks(P<0.05、 P<0.01、 P<0.01).There has no difference between test1group and estazolam groupat at4,8,12week.(P>0.05). TG:From4th week post-treatment, TG is significantly reduced in three groups compared with pre-treatment (P<0.01、 P<0.01、 P <0.05). TG is significantly reduced in test2group, than in test1group and estazolam group at4,8,12week (P<0.01、 P<0.01、 P<0.05). There has no difference between test1group and estazolam group at4,8,12week.(P>0.05).BMI:BMI is significantly reduced in test1group and test2groups compared with pre-treatment at12weeks (P<0.05,、 P<0.05). Compared with pre-treatment, there has no difference of BMI in estazolam group at12weeks (P>0.05). There has no difference between test1group and test2group (P>0.05).【Conclusion】 Auricular acupressure can significantly improve sleep state and mental condition in type2diabetic patients with insomnia.There has a close relationship between sleep quality glucose level in type2diabetes with insomnia. Differentiation syndormesin can improve the glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism.
