Objective: To investigate the clinical features of the puberty polycystic ovarysyndrome (PCOS) between the Uygurs and Hans in Xinjiang, and study the efficacy andsafety of compound cyp roterone acetate in the treatment of the puberty PCOS. Methods:Sixty-three patients (including the Uygurs20patients and Hans43patients) of pubertyPCOS were examed and received compound cyp roterone acetate for3cycles. Serum sexhormone, pelvic ultrasonography, the clinical features were evaluated before and after3cycles treatment. Results:(1) Compared with the normal women, there was no different inthe menarche in the puberty PCOS patients, but the major criterion was different.Body-hair in the Uygurs was much more than that of Hans and acne was less than that ofHans. Menstrual cycle was longer than that of Hans.(2)Sixty one patients had regularmenstruation during compound cyp roterone acetate therapy. Hirsute and acne scoredecreased significantly (P<0.05). Serum estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH),follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), LH/FSH, testosterone(T), decreased significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion: There are some differences in clinical features between the Uygursand Hans in the puberty PCOS patients. Compound cyp roterone acetate hasantiandrogenic effects on adolescent PCOS patients and imp rove their edocrine and ofovulation. It is effective in treatment of adolescent girls with PCOS.
