Objective:To understand the staff on smoking and tobacco control situation, tobacco control knowledge to grasp the situation, the attitudes and behavior in the hospital of Xinjiang, to investigate and to analyze the impact factors of tobacco control behavior and to explore the intervention effect of tobacco control behavior of hospital staff for the purpose of laying foundation for the tobacco control made by the hospital. Methods:By using a cluster random sampling method and the unified domestic tobacco control program questionnaire conducted in41collaborative hospitals, we evaluated the effects of tobacco control interventions. Results:After the implementation of tobacco control in the hospital, we found that the smoking age ranked mostly between30to50; employees of college education background comparatively had lower proportion of smokers; the staff smoking rates decline, male smoking rate from63.35%to32.66%; the staff Intention to quit increased, smoking cessation intention of smokers increased from37.27%to64.33%, do not want to quit smoking by46.99%to9.55%; rose to discourage smokers in non-smoking areas from82.50%to92.04%.Conclusion:The tobacco control measures are demonstrated effective in this hospital. And this hospital awarded the first "smoke-free hospital" of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and advanced hospital of the National Tobacco Control, the Minister of Health of China, Chen Zhu, warmly met with the hospital smoking cessation physician and pointed out that acceleration of the introduction of Government’s tobacco control policies is the primary key to achieve100%smoke-free hospitals.For example, additional punitive measures for public places smoke-free policy, and the establishment of the tobacco control section specific management efforts in tobacco control; the use of social media to vigorously promote tobacco control knowledge, health education, the use of social media to vigorously promote health education knowledge on tobacco control; gradually strengthening tobacco control in all levels of the hospital, promoting the tobacco control status of the hospital mobility of people; Improve the measures of implementation enhancing the use of outdoor smoking; strengthening the supervision of the tobacco control and the enforcement of the assessment methods. Additionally, we should increase the incentive intensity, refinement of tobacco control services, improve the hospital social effects of tobacco control, strive enormous effort to explore forward, and try to achieve the standards of smoke-free hospital.
